The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), an IEC campaign aimed at increasing awareness and ensuring full implementation of government schemes in tribal habitations with a majority of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The campaign seeks to bridge gaps in knowledge and accessibility to various welfare programs, ensuring 100% coverage.
Through PM JANMAN Scheme, the government aims to enhance the livelihood, education, healthcare, and overall development of PVTG communities by bringing essential services and benefits to these remote and vulnerable tribal areas across India.
Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) Scheme Details
- PM JANMAN is a government initiative aimed at integrating tribal communities into the mainstream.
- Implemented by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with state governments and PVTG communities.

PM JANMAN Scheme Detailed Action Plan
At the National Manthan Shivir held on December 15, 2023, the mission’s implementation strategy was thoroughly discussed. Over 700 officers from the Central and State governments collaborated in joint brainstorming sessions. Sectoral workshops were conducted, during which nine Ministries and Departments developed a comprehensive Action Plan.
PM JANMAN Scheme plan, demonstrating the States’ commitment, was presented to the High-Powered Committee under the Mission, consisting of Cabinet Ministers from the respective Ministries.It was noted that many families in these communities lack essential documents like Aadhaar, caste certificates, and Jan Dhan accounts, making it difficult for them to benefit from various schemes.
In response, detailed discussions were held with UIDAI, CSC, the Ministry of Agriculture, PMJAY, and other departments, along with District Magistrates from 100 districts, to ensure these basic requirements are met in a week-long campaign.
