About E-Drive Scheme Portal

The Ministry of Heavy Industry, Government of India, with the approval of the Union Cabinet chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has launched the ‘PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme’, as per the Gazette notification S.O. 4259 (E) dated September 29, 2024. The scheme will be implemented from October 1, 2024, and will run until March 31, 2026.

Additionally, the EMPS-2024 (Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme-2024) covering electric two-wheelers (e-2W) and electric three-wheelers (e-3W) from April 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024, is being merged with the PM E-DRIVE Scheme. Therefore, the total effective duration of the PM E-DRIVE Scheme will span two years.

STEP 2: On the home page of website, click on “Login” option.

STEP 3: Choose the login option as one of the following: MHI, OEM, Dealers, Testing Agency, PMA, or Auditor.

PM E-Drive Scheme Subsidy Amount 2024

The PM E-DRIVE Scheme provides subsidies to all electric vehicle buyers, making EVs more affordable and accessible.

  • ₹10,000 subsidy for each electric two-wheeler buyer.
  • ₹50,000 subsidy for each electric three-wheeler buyer, applicable until March 2025, after which the subsidy will be reduced by half.

PM E Drive Scheme Registration 2024

The PM E Drive Scheme is set to replace the FAME India scheme, with the government investing ₹10,900 crore to promote electric vehicle (EV) adoption, establish 88,500 charging stations, and reduce petrol consumption and pollution.

To be eligible for the scheme, applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold Indian citizenship, and provide essential documents such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, address proof, and a passport-size photograph.

How to Apply for PM E Drive Scheme 2024

The step-by-step process to apply for the PM E Drive scheme is outlined below.

STEP 1: When purchasing an EV, buyers will receive an e-voucher.

STEP 2: The PM E Drive Scheme Portal generates this e-voucher, authenticated through Aadhaar.

STEP 3: A link to the e-voucher is sent to the buyer’s registered mobile number.

STEP 4: The buyer signs the e-voucher and submits it to the dealer to claim the incentive.

STEP 5: The dealer then signs the e-voucher and uploads it onto the PM E-DRIVE portal.

STEP 6: Both the buyer and dealer receive confirmation via SMS.

STEP 7: Finally, the signed e-voucher is used by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to claim reimbursement for the incentive.

The Ministry of Heavy Industry (MHI) is launching e-Vouchers for EV buyers to access the demand incentive under the scheme. At the time of purchase, the scheme portal will generate an Aadhaar FACE-authenticated e-Voucher through e-KYC. A download link for the e-Voucher will be sent to the customer’s registered mobile number.
